The amount of energy consumed to operate the pump is much less than would be required to heat the building by conventional means. Heat pumps are inherently efficient as they use low temperature heat created from renewable energy sources, and release relatively low carbon emissions.

With a heat pump you have no flammable fuel stored on site or unsightly tanks and no oil or LPG tanker deliveries. The equipment creates no ventilation requirements in the house and there is no visible pipework. It can be specified to provide cooling as well as heating. Heat pumps have no servicing or maintenance requirements.
