Solar water heating systems work alongside your conventional water heater and can provide almost all of the hot water during the summer months. Solar water heating can be used for domestic water heating and also for larger applications such as underfloor heating or swimming pools. Solar panels are fitted to the roof and retain heat from the sun’s rays which is then transferred to a fluid. In an open system the hot water is heated directly by the panels. In a heat exchange system the fluid, which contains an antifreeze agent, uses a heat exchange system to heat the water in a tank indirectly. Some systems require a pump others use gravity.

There are two different types of solar collectors: flat plate and evacuated tubes. Sunskai can supply both types.
